Synopsis: Two cognizant, self-aware expeditionary robots descend to earth on an expedition to recover lost records and other archeological evidence that may shed light on their origins. Their directive precludes them from contact with the remnant earth human population living in preserves run and maintained by the Federation. But what will the archeologists do if the strongest evidence pointing to how their race might have emerged can be located around human preserves?
