Why am I releasing two books from two different series on or about the same time? Insanity comes to mind. Having no clue about how to publish or promote books is another possibility. If you read through the end, you may find another clue.

Brownie, episode 4 of the Tracking Jane series will come out on or before December 23. It will feature the next phase in Jane’s adventure, closing some mysteries revealed in Tahoe-1, and continue addressing the wider-ranging issues challenging Jane and threatening her recovery from the physical and psychological trauma she suffered in service of her country.

Beisbol Libre, book 5 of the Our Cyber World series, is due to come out one week later, on December 30. This story will feature a new protagonist, a Cuban baseball player dabbling win espionage and defection, along with some characters you will recognize from previous books in the series.

Speaking of characters from previous books… Brownie and Beisbol Libre will also share some characters you’ve come to know from the Our Cyber World series. If you were paying attention to the ending of Tahoe-1, you might have picked up on that–if you’ve been reading both series, that is.

Now… does this mean the two series are becoming one. For now, I’ll say no, but I believe stories happen on their own, without my designing or forcing them in a certain direction, so… who knows? In this case these two stories needed to share a common set of circumstances and locations, and hence ended up running into some common characters. Fun, huh? I think so. I hope you do, too!
