It seems silly, even foolish (ha!) to have a day when we celebrate foolishness. April Fools’ day is here, and all manner of energy will be spent to concoct “credible” hoaxes and clever sarcastic-filled missives in the hopes that one of them will go viral. While I usually sit on the sidelines and look askance at the various attempts at fool-making and leg-pulling, this year I joined the party with a stab at parody.
If you are so inclined, you can check it out over at my Medium account…
But back to this day, seriously… we want to make sport about fooling others? Can’t we uncover more productive things we can do with our time and resources? Of all the things we should celebrate, must we pick mocking and fooling above the rest?
Oh, heck. I’m missing the point, aren’t I? Let’s be silly for a day, maybe restrict it to a couple of hours if you’re the bent-on-productivity type. As for me, I’ll take this time to wish everyone a Merry April Fools’ Day!
